FAQ

We’ll send you and/or your recipient a virtual box every month.

Yes.

This will be done 100% equitably. If four organizations are featured in the Box, each organization will get 25% of the funds.

In your monthly virtual box, you (and your recipient if it’s a gift) will receive updates and information from the organizations you’re supporting and ways to get involved in a beautiful newsletter format. We’ll let you know if the organizations have changed and give you a summary of what’s happening in the issue area(s) you chose. It’s the perfect way to stay abreast of important topics without being inundated with information from dozens of organizations.

You’ll be given opportunities to opt-in to the organizations, but we won’t sell your email address, so you don’t have to worry about getting inundated with dozens of alerts and newsletters if you don’t want to.

Yes, the organizations we choose in each category or “Box” are not static and may change. When they do, you and/or your recipient will be notified. Organizations will be featured for at least 3 months.

We have several criteria we use to determine which organizations we support through The Giving Box, but you will always know which organizations you are supporting and you can be assured that they have been carefully vetted by all of our professional curators. Because we are an organization that is focused on civic engagement, we will favor organizations that have ways for individuals to get involved through advocacy and/or volunteering.

All organizations listed are registered and vetted 501c3 charities. Donations are tax-deductible.

A donor-advised fund, or DAF, is a charitable giving vehicle sponsored by a public charity that allows you to make a contribution to that charity and be eligible for an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants over time to any IRS-qualified public charity.
