The fundamental constitutional protections of due process and equal protection embodied in our Constitution and Bill of Rights apply to every person, regardless of immigration status. However, in Trump’s America, this is not the case. The “lock ’em up”  or “send ’em home” approach is contrary to common sense and our fundamental values. In America, liberty should be the norm for everyone—and detention and deportation the last resort. We must protect the rights and liberties of immigrants and focus on challenging laws that deny immigrants access to the courts, impose indefinite and mandatory detention, and discriminate on the basis of nationality.

We need to fight back harder than we ever have before.
